An idle thought... I wonder if anyone remembers the old advert for the Royal Mail that had the theme of ‘I saw this and thought of you’ as a reason to send someone a gift in the post? It just occurred to me that this theme would be an excellent one for re-connecting with those who had fallen away from the Church. Perhaps someone could come up with some leaflets or booklets along this theme, containing words of compassion, tenderness and a longing to be reunited with our ‘lost sheep’. I expect such things probably already exist. Wouldn’t it be nice if the Church appropriated this common phrase and made it work for something much better than the Post Office.
